Overwhelming Joy

Joy is a very powerful and important ingredient of a successful marriage. To do without it will only lead to lack of fulfilment and frustration. A lot of married people want to experience joy before they give it, and that is absolutely fine. The only thing is that it does not have to come from your spouse.

God is the source of all joy, he gives great, unspeakable and overwhelming joy. Joy is a spiritual force resident in the spirit of everyone who has received Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour. As you consciously release joy into your marriage through premeditated words and actions, the atmosphere around your marriage will change. It is time for you to enjoy your relationship with your spouse to the fullest.

Ask God to fill your marriage with His joy, start rejoicing over one another, celebrate your spouse, be quick to forgive, do not keep malice, stay away from strife. Make a conscious effort to keep affirming and honouring your spouse.

Do not let sorrow hold you captive, create an atmosphere that is conducive for you to talk freely about whatever makes you unhappy together. Ask Jesus for help. You can have great and overwhelming joy each day, this week, this month and this year.

Work it out together, set conscious goals you know would help you to enjoy your marriage. You are not perfect so you will make mistakes, don't dwell too long on them, be determined to move on.

We want to challenge you if the journey thus far has been rough, to try the joy of the Lord, you will be pleased at the outcome - don't give up!

Put this to action and have a joy filled-marriage.
