We
define barrenness for a married couple, as not being able to have a child
of their own. This can be due to various reasons or sometimes even no reason
at all.
God
is not the author of barrenness. Satan is the one who comes to steal kill and
destroy, so that anything that has that characteristic is his work. Children
are blessings from the Almighty God to married couples. God spoke to Adam and
Eve (the first couple) in Genesis 1: 28 Then God blessed them, and God said
to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion
over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living
thing that moves on the earth.” (NKJV).
God’s
first pronounced blessing upon Adam and Eve was to have children of their own,
to be fruitful, and together with their fruits they are to increase and enjoy
all the good things God has made available for them. That scripture sounded
like God’s plan was that He actually wanted a family. He has not changed that
and will never change. God is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Children
are good gifts from God, you see God loves you so much and His plans are for
your greatest good. He delights in your pleasure. Your sadness or sorrow brings
no glory at all to Him.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
James 1:17
God
brought you and your spouse to earth of His own will, no one forced Him to,
and just as in the case of Adam and Eve He brought you here to bless you and
not to oppress you, to honour you and to cause you to have victory in all
areas of your life and marriage.
You Have An Enemy
Satan
is God’s enemy he is seeking to steal, kill and destroy all that is God’s
and that includes you. The truth is he cannot
if you will be strong in the Lord, and join your faith with others of like
precious faith and resist him. The Bible declares when we submit ourselves
to God Almighty and then resist the devil he has no choice but to flee. Together
we will put him to flight and by our God given authority demand all that is
ours from him.
Despite
the enemy, you have victory in Jesus Name, no matter which way the enemy comes,
in form of medical complications, impotence, and so on, the Bible says in
2Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph
in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every
place.
This
is so awesome, Jesus is saying not only is He going to lead you to triumph,
your triumph will also release the goodness of God everywhere you go. Your
victory will point others to the goodness of God.
That
last scriptures begins with now, so
gear up and be strong for God is at the steering, now. What you couldn’t do
because you were weak in yourself, God has sent Jesus to accomplish on your
behalf. He is your saviour and deliverer, Jesus specialises in setting people
free from situations that are too hard for them.
Believe
All
He is asking is that you trust Him. You can do that, we know the journey may
not be pleasant, but take His hand He will strengthen your heart and get ready
to trust Him.
…”If you can believe, all
things are possible to him who believes.” Mark
9:23
Jesus
specialises in making the impossible a reality. He came to destroy the power
and oppression of every sickness, bondage, curse, and all the power of the
enemy. God wants you to flourish in good things, He wants you to know that
He is not the author of confusion and sadness, He is the High Priest of victory,
joy, and righteousness.
With
Jesus nothing is impossible, every promise you find in the word of God is for
you. God is not trying to teach you a lesson through hardship and torment, He
delights in your being blessed. He is with you to help you, the covenant you
have with Christ is to enforce the destruction of the works of the enemy.
You are of God, little
children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he
who is in the world. 1John 4:4
Glory
to God, that is so exciting, the Bible says you have overcome already, you
are not about to overcome barrenness and the trouble that comes with it but
you have overcome, that is what you need to keep saying to yourself. Declare
it by faith, say I have overcome unfruitfulness for the greater one is in
me and through Him I have overcome.
